Accessibility statement

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA. Here is what we have done, and the limitations we know about — including the ones we have not fixed yet.

Last updated: 9 September 2026

Our aim

This site should be usable by everyone, including people using a screen reader, navigating by keyboard, or viewing at high zoom. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA.

What we have done

  • Every page has a skip-to-content link as the first focusable item.
  • All functionality works by keyboard alone, including the browse menu, the copy buttons, every tool and the cookie dialog. Focus is always visible.
  • Text and background colours were contrast-checked before use, not after. The lowest ratio anywhere on the site is 5.3:1, above the 4.5:1 that AA requires for normal text.
  • Interactive controls are at least 44×44 pixels on touch devices.
  • Copying a wish announces the result to screen readers through a live region, rather than only changing a button’s colour.
  • Every tool input has an associated label, and every tool result area is a live region.
  • Hindi and Spanish passages carry a language attribute, so a screen reader switches voice instead of reading them in English.
  • Headings are properly nested, with one h1 per page and no skipped levels.
  • Animation is removed entirely when your system requests reduced motion.
  • The layout reflows to 320 pixels wide and to 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling or loss of content.
  • No information is conveyed by colour alone.

Known limitations

We would rather list these than claim they do not exist:

  • Images generated by the cake, card and invitation tools carry generic alternative text, because we cannot know what you typed into them.
  • The site has not been audited by an external accessibility specialist, and no assistive-technology user testing has been carried out. Our conformance claim is therefore self-assessed.
