If someone is born within two days of a boundary, they'll often say they're "on the cusp" and identify with both signs. Astrologically only one sign applies at the moment of birth, but the neighbouring traits are a nice thing to mention in a card — Leo-Virgo, for example, reads as confident and meticulous, which is a genuinely useful compliment.
